We closed on the house and it's all ours!!!! We are very very excited!!! Just a quick post..

Merry Christmas!

Hey Ya'll!

Figured that since I hadn't posted in a while that I should catch everyone up on the news.

Well.. tomorrow is the day that we close on the house. I'm getting excited and anxious and can't wait to get this over with. We finally got all of the documents signed off and ready to go. We are only waiting on the mortgage gal to give us the FINAL number so I can get a check for closing tomorrow. I should be getting that sometime today. I have a final walk through tonight at 530 (to make sure that the dude didn't put holes in the walls or whatever). I met the owner this past weekend. My dad and I were driving by the house (just to see it) and noticed the the owner was outside chit chatting with his neighbor so we stopped and introduced ourselves and we chatted for a bit. He asked me if I was excited.. and I was like "Hell yeah I'm excited" =) He's letting us buy his Fridge, washer/dryer for $800 (total), It's a great deal! So, I think that's about it on the house, everything went really well with the inspection, appriasal and everything else that we've dealt with. Just gotta get past today and tomorrow and the house will be ALL OURS!!!

Last Friday, I had 3 wisdom teeth removed and of course that wasn't so fun.. They knocked me out to do the procedure. I'm still alittle tired from the surgery and my right side of my mouth is still numb. I have to go back to him this afternoon for a follow-up and I was going to ask him about the numbness.. I may just take a long time to get over stuffs (surgery, sickness).

I had a pretty good Christmas. Missing David to no end. Really wish he was here.. but in less than a month, I'll be seeing him again. I got some stuff for the house for Christmas and it's really nice stuffs.. I went over to my friends' Donna's mom house on Christmas Eve, then went over to my parents place on Christmas Day (morning) and then went over to Donna's sisters' place on Christmas Day (afternoon). Had some good food, though I can't chew much since my teeth are pretty sore...

The other day, I got a phone call from my friend Megan. It was great talking to her, though I told her that I was going to call her back and never did.. I had been so busy the past couple of days, also have been sleeping off and on for the past couple of day, just didn't get a chance to call her. I'll call her tonight. Promise! She's doing good.. It's been forever since I talked her and all.. Maybe sometime soon, we can get together and catch up on old times..

David is doing good. It has been a rough couple of weeks with all this house stuffs, not able to talk to each other (phones acting screwy) and other stuffs, but we made it :) Some days, I wanna just hit him over the head with a pan and other days I'm like.. "Boy.. I sure wish David was here so we can go out to the movies". It's a love/hate relationship.. hehehe .Just kiddin'!!!!! =D Anyways, David is doing good over there and can't wait to come back in January. He had recieved his renewal contract and decided to just renew till June instead of Sept. This long distance thing is getting to him (as it is to me).. So.. he'll be home for good in Jun and on vacation at the end of Jan. Also, only 325 days till the Wedding!!!! I have the number of days left till the wedding on the board here and everyone who comes in looks at the board to see how many days.. It's kinda funny and all. They have told me that I need to put up how many days left until he comes home :) I may do that since It's a bit slow here. David is pretty excited about the house and ready for this whole deal to be over with so we can start enjoying the place. Love you honey.. can't wait to see you again...

Work is going pretty well.. I'm having more resp. put on me, which is great :) We got lots of stuff going down in Jan and I'll be part of it. Can't wait till after the new year. I'll be super busy...

Earlier today, I went online to check out the latest Hourglass from Kwaj and noticed that the COL. was talking about the transition from Kwaj to HSV. It would be pretty cool to see some of the people from Kwaj in HSV. I could show them around and stuffs. We'll see what happens to Kwaj, but I know one thing for sure.. I will always like Kwaj, because that is where David and I met and it will always be special to me.

Let's see what else.. oh.. Donna bought the bridesmaid dress and we are needing to bring it up to Nashville to see what it looks like in the Church.. I may do that like 2 weeks from now or something. I really need to get going on it though.. Gotta get the other two bridesmaids to get there dresses once we know that this is THE ONE. The dress is pretty nice and all.. Hadn't done much with the planning of the wedding (as of yet).. I'll be getting into it after all this house stuff has settled and all..

Well.. I think that's about it.. The car is doing good.. I'm doing good.. David is doing good.. Everyone is doing pretty well.. Just got lots of stuffs happening right now. Have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!!! I'll post again in a couple of days, re-capping the new year and informing people how the house thing is going.

About the house..

Hey Everyone! I figured that I would post this morning about the house since I have some time.. On Thursday, I went over to our realtor's office on Thursday afternoon (around lunch time) to sign the offer on the house. We had requested that we'll pay full price on the house, but the seller pays ALL closing and put a one year warranty on the house. Also we were planning on closing on Jan 7th. Around 7 or so that night, I got that call that we have been wanting all day long.. Cassy said that the seller has accepted the offer, though putting a cap on the closing cost (which is fine, cause the amount that they agreed on is what our closing costs are coming to), and the seller wants to close earlier than the 7th of Jan. We are closing on Dec 27th! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO US!!! So.. now.. I have to get the home inspector to come out and check out the house and do all this other house stuffs.. David and I are just so happy that we got the house and that we get to close early.. So, let's see what else has been going on.. that's about it..just really working on the house thing... Haven't been too busy at work or anything.. it's just because it's Dec and it's usually slow around Christmas. My parents are doing well.. they are excited that we are about to get a home.. Both sets of parents are excited. Had a message from Dad#2 from last night.. He wanted to chit chat about the house, but I was sleepin' at the time.. So I need to call quite a bit of people today.. including David's dad, my cousin Laura and David's cousin, Stephanie. Need to ask the cousins if they will be my bridesmaid for the wedding and just to chit chat with Dad#2. Not really sure what to do with myself this weekend.. I'm not having to go out and look at houses.. maybe i'll work on my cross-stitch. Man.. I hadn't worked on that in a long time.. I want to get it done before Christmas and I should be able to do that if I work on it more often.. Neways.. I gotta run.. Tummy is rumbling...

Happy "late" Thanksgiving

Hello All Again:

Hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving. I sure did.. Though among "all" the fun, I started missing David terribly.. I knew that when the holidays hit, that it was going to be a bit rough.. but we made it. Since last post, I've done quite a bit.. as you can see, it's only 3am, so of course I'm not sleeping through the night... kinda sucks, but oh well.. Neways.. David and I have been "looking" at houses on the net.. I got it touch with the realtor and I'm supposed to meet her today at lunch time. I have already talked to a mortgage loan officer and looks like we are good to go.. Just had one issue.. but we got it fixed up. So, we'll see where we go from today after I talk to the realtor and stuffs. We have picked out some houses that we just LOVE!! So, i'll be checking them out and we'll pick one out! =) Onto other news... I got my beautiful WEDDING DRESS! and of course, NO I'm not going to post it.. Can't let David see it =) It's real nice.. got a GREAT Deal on it! =) So.. let's see, what else has been going on.. man.. i have no idea.. it's been really busy here.. just got lots of stuff to do... Oh, almost forgot.. Went to the Alabama football game.. It was fun, though we lost.. Ugh.. and Dont get me started on the Auburn - Alabama game.. Neways.. Just figured that I should post something.. Long Time No Post!!

Hello All Again!

Sorry for not posting in a long time. I have been super busy with stuff here in AL. Yep, you guessed it right! I'm here in HSV. Home Sweet Home. Lets see... Lots of stuff going on.. so I'll start from the beginning.

I got done with my packout, got everything signed off on my paperwork and all. Last day of work was ok.. then right before I had to meet with the BQ inspector to check out of my room, the guys there in IT came together and gave me some balloons, cookies/a cupcake and a nice card. I got the card sitting in my room right now. I showed everyone here the card and they didn't get that the card wasn't a "goodbye" but "good luck on my surgery" or something to that affect... lol It was kinda funny. So yeah. It was a bitter-sweet goodbye. The day came (Oct. 15th) and I had to say bye to everyone, including my future mother and father-in-law. I didn't get emotional saying bye to them, but I did when the plane got onto the runway.. I kept saying "Here we go", "Here we go".. so.. I got onto the airplane.. cried a bit.. then when we were going down the runway, I waved to CB/Lexy's trailer (way back there) and then waved at the Powerplant (where CB was at (working))... oh.. forgot to mentioned.. I got up at the top of the stairs to enter the airplane, I turned around and waved to Kwaj and said "Bye!" This guy looked at me wierd but I didn't care... Oh, one more thing, I got bumped up to first class baby! It was nice, but nothing like BusinessFirst (i'll explain this later on). So anyways.. we took off.. i cried alittle more (more sniffs than crying) and we were off to Honolulu... Nothing much happened in Hono.. except for the fact that I was able to upgrade to BusinessFirst Class for not much money.. Boy.. that was nice... I'd do that again.. We were given menus and all and.. yeah.. it was soo nice.....Neways.. got into Hono at 230a.m., got in.. then left at 730p.m. or so to head to Houston then to HSV. Got into Houston, had some time to kill before our plane took off at 1030a.m. (i got in at 730a.m.). Well I'm waiting around Houston and noticed that most of the planes were being delayed.. I was like "what the hell is going on?" Well, it was because of FOG!!! Maybe the airline people should take a HINT from David and get them some FOG LIGHTS!!!! LOL =) (inside joke)... NEWAYS! My plane was delayed too.. until freaking 1230p.m. So I waited and waited and was finally able to board the plane to HSV.. again I said "Here we go" =) Got into HSV, freezing my butt off... and came down the stairs and saw Donna, mom and dad. Donna ran over and hugged me and they all saw how tired I was.. So I got my stuff and left to go to mom and dads.. So.. fast forward to the next day.. Went to the drug screening thing (didn't have the paperwork that I was supposed to have.. what a mess) but I finally did the screening, went to the Honda Dealership.. looked at the Accords.. the new 08's have a different body to them and they have added some new features.. They are pretty nice.. So.. I called dad and see if he wanted to come by the honda dealearship with me to see the new cars.. he said that he would... So after work we went by there and I showed dad the car that I was look at. (LX model)... I called David up and told him about the car that I was looking at and he said "Why don't you look at the V6s", So. I looked the V6s and they come on the EX Models.. the EX model is a step above the LX, you get alot more features for the price.. Well, they had like 2 of them there, 1 with the Navigation System and 1 without, both with leather.. So I called David up and told him about it and the prices for each.. and...... I AM A PROUD OWNER OF A 2008 HONDA ACCORD EX V6! Yeah baby!!! Oh it's sooo nice.. sooo nice.. David is just going to LOVE IT!!! So, I bought myself a car with alittle help from my honey bunny (David).. went shopping alittle bit for clothes, cause.. yeah, shorts don't hack it here in AL when it's like 50 degree or even lower than that.. Got my insurance and car tag the next day when I got the car.. and just kinda tried to catch up on my sleep and get used to everything again.. Fast forward to Monday.. Day 1 of work. Had my orientation.. that went pretty smoothly, met up with my boss for lunch, that was nice.. Then went to the Bldg that I will be working out. met like 2 people out of my group.. Fast foward to the next day. Did alot of paperwork to get badges and whatnot.. stayed home.. fast foward to the rest of the week.. Stayed home and started studying for my certification test. That's the thing about the gov't.. you can't do anything until you have all the badges and whatnot.. bah.. so this past week comes around and I'm able to get all of my badges and my CAC, but I still can't log in.. Gotta have some IA training and everything..Bah.. I kinda hate that I can't do a whole lot, but I'm getting paid so that is all that matters! I'm starting to get into my job and figuring out what my "job duties" are and whatnot..Boy.. I got lots of responsibility and I'm gonna love it! I'm gonna be one busy gal, once I am able to get things squared away... So, that's where I am at right now.. oh I forgot.. I went down to our server room and guess who I saw.... Mike Cheatham! He used to be David's boss there on Kwaj..I was like.. MIKE!!?!?! lol.. he didn't recognize me first off cause I have longer hair now than I did back then, but yeah.. Small world, I tell ya.. NEVER BURN YOUR BRIDGES!!

I'm living over here at Donna's place and it's been pretty nice.. Thanks Donna for letting me stay with ya! =) I haven't gotten my bed moved over from mom and dad's place yet, but I think we are going to do that next weekend.... Other than that, I have been busy with other stuff than work.. but been busy.. I have caught up on my sleep, though we just changed our clocks back one hour so I gotta get used to that.. bah.. Neways.. I have written quite a bit already so I guess I should end it now.. Cowboy and Lexy. I miss you guys.. Can't wait to see you again! The rest of Kwaj.. Another Journey is coming to a close..

I've got some new and exciting news from Kwaj. I turned in my notice last week and I'm coming back to Huntsville, AL. I got a great opportunity with SAIC came up and I'm very excited to start working with the people there. The salary is what I wanted and the job sounds perfect for me. I'm very excited to get back to HSV. I've got quite a bit of things to do before I leave Kwaj.. Gotta go through the whole check out process, pack up my stuff and get ready for the whole PCS thing.. I got most of my things packed up and ready to go for the shipping and recieving peoples. My last day on island is the 15th of Oct... about 2 1/2 weeks.. Not much time, but luckily I didn't have a whole lot to sale or anything.. so my packout isn't all that bad.. I wanna get all of my stuff packed up before the 6th of Oct. since that is when the guys are coming out to the BQ to pick up my stuffs. So.. for about a week I wont have a tv or really anything in my room. It will be like I was just moving in.. Luckily, David's parents have told me that I could live with them after the 6th.. So I'll have a tv to watch and everything else.. Should be fun.. Everyone has been asking me if David knows about this.. I was like "hell yeah he knows.. we talk about stuff.." I really dont know why they ask me that, but it's just kinda weird.. So, the plan is, I get back into town, get a car, clothes and whatever else I need, in Dec. get pre approved for a loan for a house, then in Jan/Feb, David will be back on vacation that time and visit me and we'll pick ourselves a house out. Luckily we have the same taste on houses, so I really dont think it's going to be hard at all getting a house together. Now.. during all this.. i have to get some certifications for my new job, PLAN A WEDDING and.. well.. get used to everything again.. Ahhhh.. DSL.. I can't wait to see you again =) Neways.. So, I'm getting ready to leave.. I have been showing a couple of people here in the office how to do my job.. It's going OK.. but yeah.. Neways.. I've got bunches of stuff to do, so I better run.. Very Agitated...

Hello All again:

Well.. let's see.. Life has been going.. I'm a bit agitated with some people in my life.. I really wish people would be supportive of me. I really don't think I ask that much out of people, but when I need something or information from a person, I would think that they would give me the information without giving me a damm guilt-trip or saying "Well you really don't need it right now" kind of excuse.. Well, excuse me.. If I didn't want it right now, then I wouldn't ask. How in the hell do you know what I need and what I don't need. Yes, the wedding is a year away. We would like to start looking at the list of people who are invited. We need to get a list together and start looking over it (since we are planning on sending out invites probably in or a month after Feb. David and I would like to discuss who's on the list and who can we leave off. The sooner the better in my opinion. I was told today that this certain individual wants to have this kid at the wedding. I informed them, that there are no kids allowed at the wedding, since I have heard of horror stories about kids at the wedding. I have told everyone that this is an "Adult Affair" and "No Kids Allowed". Of course this person said "we'll talk about it later" and I said.. "there's nothing to talk about. No KIDS ALLOWED". So.. Yeah, I'm wishing people would just freaking listen to me and stop making my life hell. I mean seriously.. This is OUR wedding. If we want the damm list of people, then give me the damm list of people. They had 3 weeks+ to send me a list of people.. We can change it, I just want to see who they are inviting. How freaking hard is that?!?!? Well.. I will be confronting these people when I see them again, in person. If they give me a hard time about this, I'm going to say "Forget it.. I'll take care of it.. I'll invite people that I want and that's it. I don't need this stress from my own family members". So.. anways. I wanted to get this off my chest, because I'm so tired of this crap.. I had to go to the doctor a couple of weeks ago because my stomach was acting up.. pretty badly.. Real Sharp pains.. The doctor gave me some medicine and told me that it's probably related to stress. I informed everyone who is in my life, that I don't' need to be stressed and of course, does anyone listen? Some people and not others. Ugh.. Give me a break people… and thank you to the others who have been supportive and tried not upseting me.. You obviously got my point.

Well.. I'm here again.. Another day another dollar.

Let's see.. what have I been lately.. Not a whole lot to tell you the truth. We finally gotten everything straighten out with the church. We'll be having the wedding on Nov. 15th 2008 in Nashville, TN at St. Henry's. It's been confirmed that Fr. John will be doing the vows and all that jazzy stuffs.. Very happy about that. Now, I can breathe alittle bit before having to worry about everything else.

David is doing good, though I wish he would update his blog.. I'm not the only one that looks at it =)

Work is going... well ok.. i guess.. same ol' crap just a different day.. it's been real slow, so I'm going to get the MCSE books back out and do some reading.. It's more interesting than staring at the screen or whatever..

Well.. I guess that's about it.. I got my 64oz mug here.. getting back on the whole diet/gym thingy.. Goal: Drink 64oz (my mug) a day and work out every day (with a day or two off). So, I'm going to start today.. So yeah.. Neways..

I'm Engaged!!!

First off.. Vacation was great!!!

David asked me to marry him while we were at the Space Needle in Seattle, WA. We had dinner and dessert and then he did it.. and yes, we have video of him asking me to marry him.. He had the waiter take the video. It's kinda funny when it was going on.. cause I was like "Why are you taking video when we just had our pictures taken?" and then I was like "Oh!!" LOL.. =) After he proposed and I said yes, we decided to call some people (my parents and his) to tell them the good news (as if they didn't already know) ;) oh and yes, David did asked my parents before he asked me.. =) When I got back on Kwaj, one of our friends, Sabrina, informed our local tv station and they put a notice on the TV about our recent engagement. Alot of people had congratulated me and all. and of course they wanted to see the ring!! =)

That was the highlight of our vacation. The rest of the vacation was ok.. We didn't go on our hot air balloon ride that I scheduled (because of the weather and other issues)... we didn't see any whales when we went whale watching (though we saw 2 dolphins, which we can see here on Kwaj)... We went to a waterpark in TX, which was fun, but David and I both came down with the flu and still have... We saw family and friends in TX and AL. It was great to see everyone again and all..

That was just a brief over-view on what we did.. I'll be posting picks of the vacation on the PBASE site once I rename all the pics and all..

4 Days!!!

Well 4 days before I get to see David and 3 days before I fly out! Woo-Hoo!!! I can't wait!!! Man o' Man.. I'm just bouncing off the walls.

Lexy and Cowboy left this afternoon around 1230 or so. So, they should be arriving in Hono in the next couple of hours since they have a straight through flight. I know they can't wait to see David and the rest of the family. According to Cowboy, this will be a very special trip, because all of the Galloway men will be together.. the last time all of the guys were together was like 13 or 14 years ago.. So this is a very special time for them. =)

Well.. I'm really looking forward to seeing David and all. And I can't forget the rest of the peeps that I'll be seeing.. My parents, grandparents, Donna, friends from SED, rest of David's family.. I think that's all of the people. Can't wait to see everyone!!! =)

Well.. dont have much to say.. I'm pretty much packed.. just gotta put clothes in the suitcases and go to the airport. Already have all of the documentation that I will need.. I have my passport and other important items.. I'm all set! Tomorrow is the 4th of July and they are having a big ol' bash on the beach.. I'll be attending =) I'll probably get sunburned, but I'll make sure that I have sunscreen on and all that stuffs.. Then, I work on Thursday and Friday and I'm outta here on Friday night.. woo hoo!!!

2 weeks to go!

Hello All:
Well, it is precisely 2 weeks from now I will be at the IAH Airport waiting for David to arrive. This past couple of weeks seemed to be going by pretty quickly.. Glad that it is, since I'm really can't wait to get off this island here.. I really need off of here..
This week has been quite interesting.. Especially last night.. I went to Bingo and won a FABULOUS prize. It was a soft CD holder.. Holds like 5 CD/DVDs.. Yeah.. at least I won something! Went home.. Went to bed after watching alittle bit of CSI that was on the TV. Then all of a sudden, a loud, obnoxious sound woke me up.. One guess people.. .. Guess... It was the fire alarm system. I woke up and said "is that my alarm going off?" LOL.. Sure enough it was the fire alarm.. so I got my nifty robe on, got the keys, K Badge and the most important thing.. my passport and travel order for July. LOL.. I went outside and waited until the Fire Department came by to give us the all clear.. One of the other guys waiting outside with me said that this had happened like a couple of weeks ago (around 7 or 8p.m.) and the F.D. said that it was a wiring issue in the Mechanical room.. Did I mention that this happened this morning at 1230a.m.??? So.. they gave the all clear around 1245a.m... Got back into bed. couldn't go back to sleep.. (btw, the fire alarm bell is on my wall (in the hallway) so of course the ringing was pretty loud in my room).. so I stayed up till like 1a.m. and watched some TV (nothing was on) so I when I was trying to fall a sleep, I thought about what I should have brought with me if this happens again (fire drill).. I should have gotten my wallet and everything else that is important.. neways.. I went back to bed and at 1:14a.m. it happened again. The fire alarm goes off again. So I got my robe back on, got my K Badge, Keys, Passport with Travel Orders and my PDA! =) Figured that I would bring my PDA this time, since I have lots of important numbers in there.. So.. I went outside and no one was out there till like 2 minutes later.. Fire Department was out there and they gave us the all clear.. seemed like the same thing happened as it did earlier (wiring issue).. So I went back inside and just sat there and waited for the fire alarm to go off again.. It didn't.. I was happy but had a hard time falling back a sleep.. So here I am.. Dazed.. I'm SOOO tired.. I'm gonna crash early tonight.. I wish I could go to sleep right now.. but.. yeah figured that the guys here wouldn't really like it if I just crashed on my desk.. Neways.... it was an eventful night..
Well.. I'm sure I got other stuff to talk about.. but I really can't think straight right now.. cause I'm so sleepy.. so.. hope everyone has a great weekend.. I'll post more once I get some more sleep... *yawns*

24 Days and Counting

Almost there!!!! Can't wait to get off this island and see my sweetie!! Love you, David!

Well, this past week has been real interesting.. I've noticed that my tolerance level has went south.. Even more south than it was before. This is because of the fact that another co-worker (which I'm not too fond of) pretty much acted and sent an email to all the MGMT here in IT, that I didn't know a damm thing about the issue at hand.. which I knew what was going on and how to resolve it, but I guess he didn't understand me or something.. Bah.. Just kinda pisses me off, that people look at the helpdesk as a bunch of lazy people that don't know anything about IT. Well, guess what!! I can do a hellva lot more than just take calls!! Grr.. Just makes me angry all over again.. This week, I really wanted to say "Screw It! I've been here a year, my packout is covered, just have to pay for an airline ticket.. I'm outta here." As you can see. I'm still out here and no.. I haven't bought myself a ticket, though.. I was real close to doing that and getting my UAH job back or even going to Bechtel (a partner of KRS).. but.. I talked to David and he told me to hang in there until July so we can talk about what's going on here and stuffs.. So, we'll see.. I can hang in there for 24 more days. :)

Other than work pissing me off, life has been going. On Saturday, Cowboy and Ricky went fishing (which I was invitied, but I, of course, had to work, but should have taken off) and they caught themseleves a Marlin (about 100 lbs or so (a baby Marlin)) and a chest full of Ahi. I had a call from Cowboy at the marina on Saturday afternoon saying "Got a minute to come down the the Marina?" I said "Oh man, what did you guys catch?" and sure enough, I made it down there in 30 seconds flat and they caught a Marlin.. Lucky Dog!!!! Did I mention that they were only out on the water for like 2 1/2 hours? Crazy huh.. I'm jealous.. I'll admit it..

Saturday evening, we all met up and ate dinner together (Me, Annette, Angie, CB, Lexy, Stacy, Ricky, Angie's Mom and anyone else I may be forgetting). It was fun getting together with everyone and chit chatting. Afterwards we went to the club and I had fun, though, not many people there.. I guess it's because everyone is on vacation or PCS'd (permenant change of station)...

I didn't do a whole lot over the weekend, just relaxed and started cleaning my room (I like a clean room before I leave on vacation.. and when I say clean.. I mean, everything is clean!!) I started dusting and re-arranging some stuffs. I got rid of quite a bit of papers that I don't need, vacuumed the floor.. All I got left is my two closets, the bathroom and that's it.. I gotta do laundry tonight, so that's my big task for tonight.. I may possibly start on the closets tonight, but I have a scuba club meeting at 7p.m. I still got some time before I leave on vacation, but I like starting things early and when I come back home, I dont have to worry about anything, and everything is in it's spot and I can relax after the 8+ hour airplane ride from Hono.

I dont have much plans for the rest of the week..Just kinda hanging out and cleaning. I've been watching the series Monk. It's such a great show! David had bought me the box set of Seasons 1-4 and I'm just now getting to watch the epsoides. I really enjoy them! Thanks sweetie.

32 Days and counting..

Hello All:

32 Days and counting until I see David again. Can't wait to see him! After David and I meet up in TX for a couple of days, we'll be heading to HSV for 3-4 days to see my family and friends, then we're off to Seattle. We're gonna be busy when we're back in the states, but at least we'll have some time with each other and get to take it easy (alittle bit) while we are on vacation. David and I have been chit-chatting on the phone quite a bit recently and we've been emailing each other.. We both can't wait till July 7th, when we see each other.. I just can't wait!

Onto other news.. I'm still sick.. I'll be going back to the Dr's office and seeing if I can get the "feel good" shot.. I had gotten this shot about a year ago before I came out here because I had the same thing when I went diving back home.. And the feel good shot, made me feel so much better about 30 minutes afterwards.. so yeah.. the medicine that they got me on, I think is working, though it's pretty slow and I'm tired of not being able to hear clearly out of my ears.. So yeah.. I got an appointment for Saturday to see them.. I'm giving my medicine 10 days to work.. since the Dr. told me to wait till the 10 day mark before I go back.. So.. Saturday will be 10 days.

Since I've been back at work, it's been ok.. Just trying to focus on going on vacation and how happy I'll be.. Work.. um. one word. POLITICS.. Yeah.. it's driving me crazy.. grr.. grr to that!

Anyways.. really dont want to get started on work..

My birthday was back on June 1st. I got some pretty cool stuffs for my birthday.. the one thing that I'm proud of is the fishing rod that I got from Cowboy! Thanks again CB!!! I just love it! Can't wait to start using it once my ears stop being a biotch!! =) I got a couple of giftcards, free movie rentals and some good smell stuffs. Thanks for everything guys!

Well, my 1 year anniversary is coming up in more ways than one. First one is that on June 8th, will be my 1 year anniversary here on Kwaj. I actually left HSV on the 8th and got here on the 10th, but what I understood is that the anniversary starts when you get on the plane from home. So yeah.. I'm happy that I stayed out here.. there has been some difficulites since I've been out here.. The whole.. Dad has a heart-attack after I've been out here for a couple of weeks, both of my dogs die, my uncle died of a heart-attack... I've stuck it through! There have been times where I wanted to say "Screw it!! I'm going home dammit!".. but yeah.. I still have those moments but I'm still here!

Another year anniversary is my dad's heart-attack.. As I said before, I was only out here a couple of weeks when my dad had his heart-attack out there in San Jose, CA.. He's doing alot better.. watching what he's eating, taking medicine and he's stopped smoking.. Which, I am very very proud of him.. Not like he had a choice, but he stopped. Mom also stopped as of the beginning of the year. Which is great!!!

And of course, me and David's 1 year anniversary is coming up in July. July 15th to be exact. Recently, I have been thinking about all the stuff that we've done since being together.. The mobile kitchens, the drama (out here), the vacations that we've been, the smiles, the hugs, the kisses.. Meeting the families, meeting the friends.. I'm very happy that I've met David and that he was interested in me too =) I believe David and I have came a long way in our relationship, though, he's out there in Afghanistan. Can't wait to see what the future brings us. I love you, David! Miss ya too honey!

Well, I think that's about it on the 1 year anniversary's.. Some sadness, some happiness, some confusing.. but we all have to go through this.. it's called LIFE!! Welcome to it!! =)

Back from Pohnpei

Hello All:

First off - I have updated my PBASE site with Pohnpei 07 and the Boat Trip on Kwaj.

Well the vacation was very relaxing and needed.. Here's when on:

Left on Thursday and arrived in Pohnpei.. Got a bit situated and relaxed and whatnot. On Friday, we went down to the Carving Village and I watched some of the guys carve some stuffs out of a tree trunk (it was pretty cool to watch), though we didn't stay long, I would have stayed there the whole day to watch them from start to end.. I should have taken some pictures of them.. but didn't have my camera on me. Afterwards, we went out to eat and then walked a bit more. Went by Palm Terrace to pick up some t-shirts and then headed back to the hotel (Village). Relaxed the rest of the day. This brings us to Saturday. Saturday was our dive trip. 2 trips. I went on the first dive and I noticed that I couldn't clear my ears when I was going down, but it seemed like the dude that was guiding us was wanting me to "hurry up" and come down.. So, I was able to clear my ears a bit, but it seemed like it didn't work to well. I saw a couple of sharks and all while we went diving (80ft). That was cool.. I also saw some pretty cool looking fishes too. Anyways.. we were coming up from the dive and my ears are popping and we must have came up too quickily because there was alittle bit of blood around my nose (it happens when you come up to quickily and the capillaries had busted.. so that what happens.. Anways, I got back into the boat and I felt pretty disoriented and all. It kinda sucks.. My ears were still plugged up. Well, I decided not to go on the second dive because of this, and thank god that I didn't.. I'll explain more later on. Sunday morning comes around and sure enough, I'm sick. Head-ache, congested, ears still plugged up, fever.. Not a fun time for SarBear. I just stayed in and sleep and tried to get better before the flight on Monday. Monday comes around and I didn't feel better at all. I stayed over there at Cowboy and Lexy's place that night and. to make a long story short.. I'm still not feeling better. The day before and yesterday, I stayed up for over 24 hours and I'm feeling it now! Went to the doc yesterday and I'm on meds now because of the congestion and the ears... Can't go diving, swimming or snorkling until my ears are better.

Pohnpei was a fun trip and all, though I did get sick at the end of it. Wish David was with us. I had thought about him when I was looking over the gazebo at breakfast and stuffs.. maybe next year we'll be able to go again together.

Moving on.. I'm still not feeling all that great.. I'm so tired.. I could probably go to sleep right now, but I doubt that my boss would like that.. but I think they would understand... Plus.. it's raining.. and that makes me even more sleepier... blah.. maybe i'll take a half day.. i dont know..

Been talking to David lately.. He's doing good. Real proud of him on posting :) Way to go honey! Only 37 more days till I get to see him. I am getting so excited. I can't wait to wrap my arms around him and give him a big ol' kiss. Yeah, Yeah, I'm sure you guys are saying "stop with the mushy stuff".. Well Blah to you! =D

Well other than that. I'm feeling pretty crappy.. so.. I think I'm gonna stop this and possibly go home.. I feel like crap and go figure.. tomorrow is my birthday (June 1st)... bah..

I'll post when I get to feeling better.

Pohnpei here I come!!

Hello All:

Well it's the morning of our Big trip to Pohnpei. I'm real excited. So much so, that my stomach hurts a bit.. Maybe it's because I hadn't eaten much for dinner last night and this morning, I ate like there was no tomorrow. I have been uber busy with getting stuff ready and in addition to getting stuff ready I had to screw around with HP and my laptop.. Long story, but yeah.. So I went to bed at 1130 last night, got woken up by HP at 1, stayed awake till 2-230, woke up at 5 when the alarm went off and stayed in bed till 530, cause I was nice and warm and didn't want to wake up, then I got online and talked to David then ate breakfast and the rest is history. Luckily, I had my stuff already packed, but I wanted to make sure of everything.. but I was still rushed this morning. So I'm thinking it's because I haven't slowed down in over a day (yesterday was VERY busy also) as to why my stomach is upset.. This morning, I have to run by the bank, pay the phone bill, head to the airport twice (for checkin), work this morning for 3 hours and make copies of everything.. I'm thinking maybe I should have taken this morning off, but hey.. I'll be happy when Dec/Jan come around when David and I take our 2nd trip... More PTO.. Neways.. I can't write much now..

Can't wait to get on the airplane and go to Pohnepi!

The weekend is here!

Yea! About damn time! This week has been quite interesting. Went scuba diving on Mother's Day, which was pretty fun and all. This week, I believe I (and the rest of the Help Desk team, except for 1 came down with a case of food poisoning (possible water contamination). I'll explain.

Everyone on the help desk is ready to get in shape! So, we're all drinking (or at least trying to drink) 64oz of water each day (the recommended allowance). Some days we do good, other days we don't. I get into work at 7a.m. in the mornings and my co-worker Dale comes in alittle earlier than 730. I asked him if he could get me some water (to start off my day).. Well earlier this week, I drank about half of my water bottle and an hour later.. I felt like crap. I won't go into the details, but yeah.. It wasn't pretty.. I came back to the helpdesk and asked the other people here if they were feeling ok.. Sure enough no one was feeling good except for one person who didn't drink the water.. So.. we all blamed the water fountain.. we had the water treatment plant guys come out to check the water and the tests came back OK.. So.. yeah.. right.. Either, they are hiding something or that we happen to drink all the "bad" water and the rest was good.. I had even offered them to take the water we still had in our water bottles, but they said "it has to be in a sterile container, we can't take a sample from your water bottle". So yeah.. There you go!!! Was out of work for about a day because of it.. oh well. I guess that's why we have PTO!

On to other news... Only 49 days till I see David and only 5 days till Pohnepi!! Can't wait to go.. It's going to be so much fun. Wish David would be there.. oh well.. I'm sure he's having fun at his LAN parties and hanging out with buds and all..

You know.. I absolutely hate when people tell me how to do my job.. Grr on them! Hell, I have been doing this for a while now.. I know what I'm doing!!!!

Neways.. moving on... like I said... this week has been interesting.. Been trying to figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life.. career wise.. at least.. I'm getting pretty bored on the help desk, I'm always looking for other stuffs to do (rather, take on more responsibilities).. Wish I could move to another position or something.. I've been looking at other job opportunities on island. I've applied for a couple of them, but hadn't really heard back.. Some of them have said
" you need radar experience and stuffs".. so.. yeah, I've been thinking alot about what I want to do with my career.

On to other news.. I was on myspace.com last night and I was looking though my friends (friends list) and noticed alot of people who I went to high school with and also some old friends that I hadn't seen in a while.. I also manage to run across my ex's myspace page, which I had no idea he had.. so yeah.. it was a definitely an interesting evening. I emailed a couple of people that I used to hang with and all.. I can't believe how people grow up.. Notice that alot of the girls that I hung out with in high school have kids, been divorced, married, or whatever the case may be. Some of the guys that I remember, now live out of state, married, divorced, etc. etc. Some of them look a bit different than say 5 years ago, some of them look the same.. Like I said, it was an interesting evening... Memory Lane..

Well, today is the day that Beth comes back to Kwaj. She used to live here about a year ago (maybe 2 years ago)... She'll be working at the HourGlass (a local newspaper).. I'm sure Scott (David's Brother) is missing her like crazy, just like I'm missing David.. We're having a PCS party tonight (permanent change of station) for a lady who is leaving the island on the 21st and the party will also be a "Welcome Back to Kwaj" for Beth.. Hope she likes it.. I'm sure she's pretty jet lagged and wants to sleep.. but hey.. we gotta "PPPPAAARRTTYY!!!"

Well, I think that's it.. Just been thinking alot of the future and stuffs.. Been missing David like crazy and I think he's missin' me too.. Well, I hope so at least =D

Another work week has ended..

Hello All again:

Well, I made it through another work week. It's was a bit rough this week, but hey.. I made it. Yea team!

First off, wanted to say Happy Mother's Day (early) to all the mom's out there, including, my mom, David's mom and Donna ;) Hope you guys have a great one!

Onto other news.. I had to send off my HP laptop to my parents, so they can send it to HP for me, since they (HP) wouldn't send the box out to a P.O. Box.. grr on them! So, yeah.. I don't have my laptop.. Which kinda sucks, since I usually email David late at night since he's at work and we chit chat for a bit, before I go to bed.. and I also check my email at home.. but that's ok, I guess. I check my email at work and all. So, it's all good, though I do miss my laptop.. oh well.. Hey, at least it was still under warranty and it's going to get fixed!

Let's see.. I've been catching up on sleep, thanks to Lexy and Cowboy. They are letting me borrow their Queen Size guest bed for the time being.. For a while now, I hadn't been sleeping too well and wasn't sure if it was the stress from work or if it's the bed, or something else.. Well, sure enough, it was the bed.. My little full size bed wasn't very comfy so I put a foam mattress on top when I first got here and I guess it's too soft.. so, Lexy and Cowboy had offered their guest bed and then whenever I leave, I'll just give it back to them.. I have been sleeping very well this past week (except for last night), and it's wonderful! Last night, I guess I just had a lot of stuff on my mind and tossed and turned all night, but that's ok.. I got almost a whole week of good sleep, I can affored 1 night of not sleeping well, compared to a weeks worth of not sleeping well.. So, yeah, I'm pretty happy with the "new" bed. Thanks again Lexy and Cowboy!

Hadn't been fishing lately, but I was invited to go fishin' on Monday if I wish.. So, I may take them up on the offer, maybe not.. Just gotta play it by ear. If I do go out.. I won't wear my sunglasses, so the guys here won't make fun of me :)

Only 11 days till Pohnpei and 56 more days still I see David. I can't wait to go on Vacation. We are ALL NEEDING IT! I was thinking the other night, that I was going to take ALOT of Pohnpei pics, but then, I thought.. Hell, I don't have a laptop to bring with me, so I can't download them from the card to the laptop, so I can take more pictures.. Oh Well, I'll figure it out. (if that made any sense)

Here at work, we got the helpdesk all cleaned up for the big wigs that are supposed to be coming next week. Our IT Building looks spiffy now :) Especialy the Help Desk, if I may say so myself. I had to file all of the 2005 End User Agreements (which there were hundreds) (I Think) and yeah.. I have the "scars" to prove it.. Got papercuts on my hands and chipped the nail polish off (a little bit).. so yeah. oh well.. it's ok. Everything looks spiffy now so it's all good.

Oh Fishing Days!!!

Hello all again!

On Monday after the BQ Sale, David's dad (CB), Scott and myself decided that we were need to get a fishing fix.. so on Monday afternoon, we went out on the B-Boat and boy was it fun!!!! No fish to be had, not even a nibble on the line, but we had fun nonetheless. What made it real interesting was the storm that came up on us. Now, don't get me wrong, it wasn't like the whole Forrest Gump scene, where LT. Dan was talking to God up on the sail thingy.. we weren't be tossed around like the S.S. Minnow on Gilligan's Island.. but it was pretty interesting.. I now know why people in FL love to see a storm crossing the Ocean.. It's really cool. We saw the rain coming towards us and all of a sudden, we were getting pelted by rain drops.. It was the "stinging rain".. lol :) It was pretty awesome, though, since they had issued a "B-Boat Warning" we had to head back to Kwaj.. and sure enough, as luck would have it, as soon as we docked, the warning was lifted.. GO FIGURE!!! Bah.. it's ok though, we didn't catch any fish, but we sure did have fun. I was telling David the other night, that going out on the ocean with CB during a rain storm was more fun than going to a waterpark like SixFlags or whatever.. Yeah, so we had fun.. I think I'm going to take a weekend off to myself though.. I gotta get some sleep and relax a bit...

A couple of guys here at work have been picking on me because of my sunburn.. One of the guys here, Lance, keeps on saying that "I'm getting tired of telling the racoons (who are outside) with flowers in their hands, that you are taken".. get it?? racoons = me with white eyes and the rest of my face and bod red as a lobster :) What the great thing about me getting sunburned, is that I pretty much lose the sunburn within 2 days and then I'm tan.. So, it's all good.

On another note.. only 64 days left until I see David again. He told me the other night that he got his tickets for July (had to wait on something to be cleared before he actually got the tickets, though already paid for them).. so.. yeah.. I'm looking forward to seeing him and my family and everyone else.. Should be an intresting trip...

The past couple of weeks, I have been trying to get in touch with some friends that I have lost contact with over the years.. J. Honey, C. Shotts, C. Hyatt, etc. etc.. to see what they've been up to, where they living now, etc. etc.. A couple of people have emailed me back and all and it's great to talk to them and to see what they've been up too. Hopefully we can all stay in touch.. I guess what prompted me to emailing people and trying to get in touch with people, is that I was thinking about my friend who had passed away several years ago (Tyson) and though.. "man.. why don't I keep in touch with anyone anymore".. so.. yeah.. I guess why we (as in everyone, including myself) "lose" touch with people, is that we either had an outting, too busy to talk to anyone or whatever the case maybe... and that is such a shame.. We are only on this world for a certain amount of time and why argue about the little stuff.. and if we do argue, we should resolve it and MOVE ON! =) I am taking my own medicine here, if you didn't already know.. :) So, yeah..

Yesterday, I had finished reading the book "The DaVinci Code" and it was a pretty interesting book.. Makes you think about stuff that you are not usually supposed to question and whatnot.. I really dont want to give away the book or anything, or even talk about religion on this website, but nonetheless, it was a good book.. Last night, I went over to Cowboy and Lexy's place and watched the movie "The DaVinci Code" and too me, the book was alot better.. That's what everyone had said and yep, it's true.. Isn't it always though?!?!

Other than that, it's been going.. I'll post later on...

Orcas??

Hello all:

Well, we went fishing last Saturday and guess what we saw. ORCAS!!! AKA = Killer Whales. Pretty awesome sight and yes, they were Orcas. We saw the white on them. We saw about 3 or 4 of them.. It was pretty cool.. I got some video of them, however, they are at a distance and you have to stop the video at certain seconds to see them. But when we turned around in the boat, we had a couple of them following us...It was really cool.. I was hoping to get a pics of them, when they were that close to us, but I couldn't get the camera in time. Oh well. Cowboy (David's Dad) told me the other day that he had given a snap-shot of the video to the Environmental and Safety Department and they confirmed it. So yeah, we saw Orca's! =)

David told me the other night where he is taking me while we go on vacation. We're going to Seattle, Washington after our visit in HSV. He said that it's funny that I mentioned that I saw Orca's because, we're actually going to go watch the "herd" of Orca's when we go up to Seattle. Whale-watching. So, yes, it's really ironic that I saw them here and that we're going to see them as they migrate to Seattle. We're also going to eat dinner at the Space Needle on our Anniversary (15th of July) and then we're going to do a couple of other things while in Seattle. Can't wait till July.

On the note of vacations, I'll be going to Pohnpei with The Galloways and some other people here on Kwaj at the end of May (Memorial Day weekend to be specific). Can't wait to go. I'll make sure that I take lots and lots of pics while I'm in Pohnpei.

Just as a side note, I concur with David on his blog when he says "know Sarah and I are flying thousands of miles to spend time with everyone (everyone, not just one or two sets of folks) so we have to split our time between everybody and then try to take some time for ourselves..."

Let's see, what else has been going on.. I have been reading the book "The DaVinci Code".. It's a really good book. I'm on Chapter 58 right now and boy.. it's interesting.. Which is funny.. 'cause I don't really read any books per say, but Lexy (David's mom) had suggested for me to read it because it was really interesting. So yeah.. it's a good book. Everyone should read it.

Work has been going.. Same ol crap, just a different day.. I'm really wanting to go over to the Computer Tech Dept.. I've already let management know that I'm interested.. so we'll see what comes out of it.

David and I had been talking about me possibly going out to Afghanistan whenever we decide to 1. get engaged 2. get married 3. whenever I get fed up with the company or when my contract ends... So, first things first. Gotta get engaged first ;) David..... =D He says that he's liking it over there and has hadn't any problems or whatnot and it's safe.. So I have been thinking about the idea of it.. I wouldn't go out there by myself, but I would if David and I were married and that we'll be together out there.. Plus, we'll make some MAJOR bank out there and we could have a really nice place when we decide to go wherever we're going to go after the whole Kwaj/Afghan thing.. We still got quite some time, but yeah.. it's a thought.. How I see it, is that I should get my options open.. Like I did, when I decided to get a job outside of AL.. Keep the options open, 'cause you never know what opportunities will be waiting for you. I would have NEVER thought, that I would be living on a tropical island, seeing KILLER WHALES!!! =)

Other than that, it's been going.. Bingo is tonight.. Looking forward to that...

4 Fishes

Well.. It's been a few days since I posted. I just bought my tickets for my vacation in July. I also bought my tickets to Pohnpei in May, so I am certainly looking forward to going on vacation soon. I will take more pictures this time around when I go to Pohnepi since I'll be there longer than 2 days :)

Me and David's 9 month anniversary was back on the 15th. David called me first thing in the morning to tell me Happy Anniversary. I thought, that it was very sweet of him to do so.

David is doing good in Kandy-land (as he calls it). It says that it's dusty and all, but he's surviving. We talk to each other and email each other often, so it's all good. Though, I do miss him very very much. Everytime I talk to him on the phone, I tell him that he should post stuffs to his blog and he keeps telling me "I'll do it THIS weekend".. yeah.. sure ;) 2 weekends have come and gone and still.. no new posts.. heheh. I'm just pickin' on him.

Other than that, it's been going. Yesterday, David's dad and a couple of people, including myself, we on a fishing expedition and it was fun. We were trying to get a Marlin, but the Marlins weren't copperating with us, so I told Cowboy that maybe we should continue on and catch other fishes.. However, we did catch 2 Mahi Mahi, 1 Yellowfin and 1 Rainbow Runner. They were pretty cool. I took some pics of the fishes before we cut them up (I'll post them on PBASE later on). That coolest thing we saw was the Dolphins and Sharks. That was really really cool, though, I should have taken some pictures of them, but I was getting sprayed with water on most of the boat trip and I didn't feel like getting my camera wet.

Well, I did get sunburned again. I put on some sunblock, but I guess it all washed away because of the water that was hitting him.. so I have racoon eyes again (people here at work, have been making fun of me).. but it's all good. My knees are a bit red too.. It should become a tan in a couple of days and hopefully, I won't peel.

I'm pretty tired today, but it's because we went out fishing all day and I'm pretty sore from the workout I did back on Saturday. So, I'm trying to recover from that...

Well, I am making some progress on the whole weight lost challenge here on Kwaj. I've lost 8 pounds now.. I'm hoping to make it to 10 pounds lost before next Monday (when we do the measurements and all). That will be the finale.. We'll know who wins the $$$ (for whoever, loses the most inches and whanot).. So that should be interesting. I know that I'm not going to win anything, but at least I tried.. (well I tried more in the last 6 weeks), since the first 6 weeks were being occupied with David and his upcoming adventures (Afghanistan).. I think I did pretty well.. I still got some more weight to lose, but I'm getting there. I'm not going to stop, when this challenge is over and done with.. I'll keep on going. I have noticed that my clothes are fitting alot better and I'm looking sexier now than ever! =) Just kidding, but my clothes are fitting alittle looser than they did before. Amazing what 8 pounds will do.

Neways.. Well, I have rambled on and on.. I guess that's about it.. I'm sure I'll think of something else to post later on..

Vacation Confirmed

It's confirmed! We're going on vacation on July 6th - July 21st. We'll be getting into Houston on the 7th, spend a day or two there and then head to HSV and visit the parents and friends there and then.. I have no idea where we're going.. Though.. David said that he has a "plan".. It's a surprise to me.. Though, I'm not really happy about surprises, but David hasn't failed me yet! =) I'm doing pretty good. My sunburn on my face has pretty much went away.. It didn't take long for me to "even out", though, I believe me drinking 64 oz of water helped, just because it re-hydrates the skin and all.. Well, I don't have much to say for right now. I'm not sure if I had posted this earlier, but me and David's dad will be going after Marlin on the 16th of April.. I'm soooo looking forward to that!!!! I'll take lots and lots of pictures!!

Not very big fishes but we still caught them! I only got a couple of pictures of them and I'll post them on the PBase website soon.

Well, I definitely got a sunburn on my face! =) When I took off my sunglasses, I look like a racoon! Red all over the face and white on the eyes =) Well, at least I won't have sunspots on my eyes, since I think that the eyes are the most sensitive part on the body. I had fun none-the-less.

Now, I'm really really tired.. more tired now than I was last week, which is hard to believe, because I was so tired last week. I guess the sun really takes a number on the bod and all.. So, yeah.. I'm sleepy.. I went home for lunch and I was just about to fall asleep.. I'm hoping that I can get to bed early tonight, but I got alot to do before I go to bed.. 1. Start laundry 2. Go to the Gym. 3. Come back from Gym and hang up the clothes 4. Eat Dinner 5. Go for a walk with Sabrina 6. Take a shower and hopefully go to bed.. So.. yeah, I'm not getting to bed till late.. and to me, late is like 10...

I guess that's about it.. Got an email from David saying that he's about 85% sure that his vacation request will be granted for July, so, it looks like we'll be going on vacation in July.

Hello All

Its been a while since my last post so I figured that I would update the blog. Also, I’ve had some people tell me to update it.. so that gives me some more motivation to update. Since the last post, David has arrived in Kandahar, Afghanistan and he says that it’s not too bad.. Weather is ok and its quite dusty. You can check out his adventures on his blog (I have a link to it to the right). I’ve been talking to David almost every day on the phone and if not by phone, by email. We decided to take our vacation sometime in July.. still working out the details on that. I can’t wait to see him again.. I know, I know, it’s only been like a month, but ya know.. I used to see him 24/7 .. so yeah. He told me this morning that he has Vonage (phone service), so I’ll be able to call him (dialing a US number), so he doesn’t use up his calling card on me and all and it doesn’t cost me lots of bucks for international calling… He also has his internet setup at his place, so he can email me on his off day without having to go to work to use the internet.. David, I better get more emails from you! Hehehe, just kidding =)

On another note, I’m still here on Kwaj, surviving… I haven’t been sleeping very well the past week or so.. Not sure why.. Though, the other evening (around 6) I went out and rode my bike from one end of the island to the other end and then walked my bike back to the BQ.. I didn’t get home till 8 or 830 and then I tried going sleep, but was wide awake till about 11.. Unfortunately, I had to go into work early the next day, so I was dragging a bit at work on Tuesday.. But yeah.. not sure why I hadn’t been sleeping well.. I guess it’s alittle noticeable.. David’s dad had came into IT and noticed that I had some puffiness under the eyes.. I had noticed that when I went to the restroom just a bit ago.. Oh well.. It’s all good.. =)

Since I’ve been back, I’ve lost 5 pounds.. =) I have gotten back on my diet and drinking water (the recommended 64oz). I have also started working out again, which I’m sure contributes to me losing weight… I’m hoping to lose about 30 pounds and I’ll be at my ideal weight.. I should be able to make it. Just gotta keep working out and dieting…

Let’s see what else.. I wanna go fishing and scuba-diving soon.. I have been itching to go fishing for a while now.. but it’s been pretty bad out there with the currents and stuffs.. so, hopefully soon we can go fishing (Davids’ dad and me)

My parents anniversary is coming up on the 31st of March.. Happy Anniversary you guys! It’s been 34 years now and I wish you guys many more years to come! Love you both! Hey Dad, take mom on a vacation.. say… to Kwajalein! =)

A rough day

Hello all again.

Well, lots of stuff has happened since the last post. David had decided back in January that he was going to accept a job in Afghanistan. I'm ok with him leaving, though I do in fact have my days. He's on a one year contract and then he's coming back to me :) He'll be making some money over there, so that will help us, whenever we decide to get married or whatever the future will bring us :) Let's see. His last day on Kwaj was on Feb 26th and we decided that before he started training at Ft. Benning, GA, that we would take a vacation together and spend some time with each other and he could meet my parents and all. Well, meeting the parents went off without a hitch.. Mom and dad just love him and my grandparents had came down from Nashville, TN and they love him too. I knew they would! =) We spent some time in Huntsville, AL (where I'm from) and we also spent some time in Calvert, TX (where he's from). I really like his parents house.. that's the house that I want.. nice brick rancher that feels like home when you step inside. We went to David's cousins' wedding and I had a blast. I met the bride and groom and they seem like really nice people. I met David's other brother, Scott and his girlfriend Beth. They both seem pretty nice. Fun was had by all.

In a week and a half, we made it through TX (Calvert, Austin, Houston) and Huntsville/Madison, AL.. That's alot of flying.. at least I'm accruring miles.. and hopefully I can fly first class from here to Hono whenever I take a vacation... =) *crossing fingers*

It was pretty hard to say bye to David when I had to fly back to Kwaj.. Man. that was hard.. ugh.. just makes me sad when I think about him not being here with me on Kwaj..

Moving on... when I got back on Kwaj, I had some bad news come to me when I got off the airplane.. One of our friends, Ralph had passed away the morning that I got back on Kwaj (which was last Thursday).. Man.. that was rough too.. Ralph and Sabrina (his fiance) were supposed to get married in April.. Not sure what had happened to Ralph, but some people think that it was a heart-attack or something.

Last night, we had a memorial service for Ralph and lots of people showed up. I'm glad too, because, I know that Sabrina appreciated it. It was a rough night but we all got through it. Even me :)

Neways.. Well, this post is just getting long, so I'll post more later on..

David, If you're reading this.. I love you sweetie. I miss you and I'm always thinking about you.
